PayPal is sponsoring the Indie Games Zone at Poznań Game Arena. The collaboration between Poznań Game Arena and PayPal stems from a shared belief that the industry’s growth begins with supporting new talent. The partnership aims to create even better conditions for promoting young Polish developers and to increase the visibility of their projects amongst gamers and industry professionals.

This is where the future of the industry begins

The Indie Games Zone has for years remained one of the most distinctive areas of the Poznań Game Arena. It is a space designed with independent developers, start-up studios and teams working on original projects in mind. For many developers, taking part in the PGA is their first opportunity to showcase their game to thousands of players, gather feedback from the community and network with industry representatives, the media and potential business partners.

Poland at the forefront of European game development

The Polish games market is now one of the strongest in Europe. According to the report *The Game Industry of Poland 2025*, there are 824 development studios operating in the country, employing over 14,500 specialists, and as many as 97 per cent of games produced in Poland are exported to foreign markets. The success of the Polish games industry is driven not only by recognised global brands, but also by hundreds of smaller, independent teams developing original titles and setting new directions for the industry’s growth.

The importance of independent developers is also evident across Europe as a whole. The European Games Developer Federation points out that the European games sector relies primarily on small and medium-sized studios, which account for a large proportion of the innovation and creativity within the entire industry. The organisation brings together over 2,500 studios from 22 European countries, the majority of which are independent developers.

“The Indie Games Zone has always been a place for discovering new talent and games, which often begin their journey to international success here. We are delighted that, together with PayPal, we can support local developers and the growth of the Polish games industry even more effectively,” says Miłosz Jankowiak, director of Poznań Game Arena.

During this year’s event, visitors will be able to try out dozens of independent titles, chat with their creators and be among the first to see projects that may one day appear on global sales platforms.
